YouTube is the largest video sharing website on the Internet and the second largest search engine, next to Google. YouTube is also a valuable social networking website for businesses looking to increase their brand awareness, website traffic and overall sales through video and social media (viral) marketing.
YouTube enables users to upload and share videos, create channels for their videos and view statistics surrounding their videos.
Benefits of YouTube:
Reach – YouTube has over 40 percent of the online video market serving nearly 7 billion videos this past April, according to comScore.
Free – YouTube provides video hosting, embed codes and in-depth analytics for $0.
Search Ranking – Properly tagged and titled YouTube videos receive high placement on search engines, especially on Google, as YouTube is owned by Google.
Search – YouTube is the second largest search engine, but it only indexes video, so you do not want to miss out.
Sharable – With links and embed codes you can let your viewers do some of the work for you by letting them share with their own network.
Viral Potential – With the right video and proper promotion your video can be seen by millions. The more the video gets shared the more free promotion you’ll get.
Hi-Def – YouTube HD is very high quality. You can also append link and embed extensions to force browsers to play HD automatically.
Community – YouTube is also a social network. Users have profiles, friends list, can leave each other comments and join groups.
Branding – Another place to link back to your website and blog. Each video you upload gets its own page, which means you can link back from there in the description.
Exposure – You can expose your product to millions across the world, turning your local business international.
Feedback – Through comments, ratings and YouTube’s back end statistics you can get gauge how well received your video is. This way you know what kind of video works to promote and what doesn’t.
Traffic Generator – If your video is usefully informative or entertaining then people will want to see or learn more, making video a great bait. So, be sure to have a watermark link in the video and/or a link in the description.
There you have it, the benefits of YouTube. If you have more to add tell me in a Tomment. Part II is on its way! Subscribe! Look to the right.
