A Blog About Winning The Internet

R.I.P. Michael Jackson, Thanks for Everything (Tribute)

Sad, sad day today. Michael Jackson has been confirmed dead at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon making the headlines everywhere. The news was so hard hitting even the web felt the effects. As word got out about Michael Jackson’s death it sent search frenzies across the internet momentarily crashing online hotspots such as Twitter, CNN, LA Times, TMZ, the popular celebrity blog from Perez Hilton and others. It is a mob scene outside of the UCLA Medical Center hospital and the traffic is unbelievable, even by Los Angeles standards. Even in death Michael Jackson draws an amazing crowd, just one of the reasons why he is regarded as the King of Pop (culture). One man single-handedly collapsed the web, now, that is star power.

On social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube people are remembering the moon-walker by sharing links to his music, music videos, and performances as arguably the greatest entertainer passes. I’d like to do so with an imaginative anecdote.

Did you hear that one story about Michael Jackson?

Paul McCartney and MJ were having a dispute at a club over a girl named Billie Jean when MJ goes Off the Wall and tells him “The Girl is Mine!” and who could blame him? The Liberian Girl was a P.Y.T. Out of spite Paul would later steal one of MJ’s shiny gloves, and in retaliation MJ would buy the rights to all of the Beatles records. They never spoke again after that, Human Nature I suppose. So MJ proceeds and tells Billie “after Workin’ Day and Night I just want to Rock With You.” Taken by his charm she became his Girlfriend shortly after and thought he was the one. But then MJ started to change, so much so he even looked different and Billie felt like she didn’t know him anymore, “he might as well be a Stranger in Moscow” she said. Saddened, MJ told the world “Leave Me Alone, She’s out of My Life,” but they didn’t, I guess they just Wanna Be Starting Somethin’. Out of frustration MJ smashed a car with a crow bar exhibiting animalistic behavior, a panther some said he resembled. Unable to look at the Man in the Mirror MJ locked himself In the Closet and told everyone to “Beat It before things go from Bad to worse,” but they continued to allow the Smooth Criminal to steal their hearts, make them Scream and Cry while he (moon)walked all over them. To them, it didn’t matter how many zippers MJ’s jacket had, how short his pants were, if he was good, bad, Black or White because they will always Remember the Time when he was just a little kid singing his ABC’s with his brothers, destined to be a king and the ultimate Thriller.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson. Thanks for everything.

Got a favorite MJ moment? I’d love to hear it in a Tomment.
