Geeks and Techies Unite!!!

First, there was the New York Fashion Week. Now comes the second annual Internet Week New York for all us techies who <3 NYC. There will be more Blackberry’s and iPhone’s per capita during this week-long shindig that is rarely seen outside of Silicon Valley. During the week of June 1-8, New Yorkers can bear witness to the rise of the geeks as Balenciaga bags are replaced by laptop messengers and Prada pumps are replaced by Converse sneakers. Everyone and anyone with an iPod and a Twitter account can join in on the fun.
After a quick overview of the week’s festivities, I can already see that it will attract a robust group of individuals with seminars like: “Capitalizing on User Engagement”, “Mobile Marketing Forum”, and “The Web TV Producers Toolbox”. There is also an event for New York tech startup investors (where many a gal can meet her future ex-husband), an intern mixer (for the bright eyed and bushy tailed), a ”Facebook Developers Garage”, and even a Yoga class at the OM Factory. Some of these events require a small fee and most come equipped with alcohol (gotta love America!). So, go! Have fun and tell me all about it! Who knows? You may rub elbows with the next Zuckerberg!
