It has been a while since I’ve updated this blog and I apologize for that – leaving you with nothing entertaining to read and actually getting some of your work done at the office; blasphemy I say! In an attempt to explain myself I’ve been lacking a muse to wield my pen (metaphorically speaking of course, because wielding a keyboard is just awkward, but a pen an obvious weapon of choice), but I have been doing a lot of reading on what is going on around the net that may interest you as it did me:

Innovating Our Way Out of the Downturn – A perspective take on online advertising and its evolution and future including the internet bust of the early 2000’s not being a real bust at all and Google is the online advertising savior among other topics (the optimism is endearing).

Strategies for Distributing Online Video Content – You don’t simply make a video and post it on YouTube and expect it to have over a million views immediately (with some exceptions to the likes of The Evolution of Dance or Chocolate Rain) More often than not there is a mixture of elements involved to help make a video viral as this article explains. Pushing a video and making it viral is almost an art and we at Supercool Creative may be deemed artistes (it’s French, but we’re all American! Not to be confused with All-American because I’m not very athletic. Also, Bonnie is from Hong Kong so…yeah…).

Razorfish Identifies Trends in Digital Media – The gap between older businessmen (and women) and maturing social media enthusiasts continue to grow smaller. The people at Razorfish suggests that your CEO will join Facebook this year if they haven’t already (this is true I’ve found our head honcho Dave Murdico on Facebook doing keg stands and various borderline inappropriate acts that people tend to post pictures of – absolutely joking but he is on FB if you care to look him up). This is because more and more businesses are discovering that a smaller, but more targeted, audience can be reached.

Social Networks, Blogs Pass Email In Usage – Social networks and blogs are dubbed “member communities” by Nielsen, who claim these “member communities” to be the fourth-largest online category replacing “personal email.” Social networks and blogs are only going to evolve and grow, so watch your back search engine marketing!
